Inspiration to Creation: I {Heart} You

The inspiration for today's card came from a cross stitch pattern I bought awhile back (which I haven't gotten to actually working on yet), and I've had it sitting in one of my Pinterest boards for awhile because I didn't want to forget about it.

How cute is this cross stitch? I bought the pattern from VickieDesigns. Her shop appears to be closed temporarily at this time though.

Anyway, I loved the idea of the solid triangles, but thought it might be fun to put in some small patterns instead. I grabbed the Lawn Fawn Into The Woods 6x6 paper pad (this one is a couple of years old) and punched some 1" squares from a few of the sheets using a Recollections square punch. I then cut the pieces into triangles and began assembling my heart over a white card base, cut to 5" square.

For the sentiment, I used Stampin' Up!'s Cajun Craze ink and the tinytitles2stamp set from The Stamps of Life. And that completed the card. Super simple but I think it makes a big statement!

Next month is Valentine's Day, and I think Brad would like this card, so I'm going to put it aside for him.
