Have been in the mood to make holiday cards recently, and I couldn't wait to start out with this 'merry" die from Stampin' Up!. (This was part of a 3 word thinlit die set, I believe from last year's holiday catalog. I grabbed it when it went on clearance, and I believe it is no longer available).
I started my card by cutting the sentiment out of some American Crafts glitter paper. I knew I wanted to back this with white card stock, but I wanted it to stand out a bit. So I cut a strip of vellum and wrapped it around the white panel, then attached my sentiment by running it through my Xyron.
I thought about stamping the stars onto the background but I didn't have enough variations of sizes of star stamps (say that three times fast). So I used an EK Success star confetti border punch and punched them. The stars are actually glitter washi tape from Tape Works layered over vellum that I ran through my Xyron to get adhesive onto them. I very carefully pulled the backing away using a craft knife.
I finished off the card by running my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen along the edges. I thought it kind of looked life frost, and it gave a nice touch to the edge of the card. Then I just attached the panel to some Stampin' Up! Smoky Slate card stock.
I think the holiday season is definitely my favorite for making cards. There are just so many fun stamps and sparkly products to use!
