Happy 'Owl'oween Card
Another Halloween card for you guys today. This one took me a long time to complete, but I'm pretty excited about the result.
I am loving the look of white heat embossing lately, so I decided to take a card base made with Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant card stock, and stamp on spider webs with Versamark, so that I could emboss them. I used the Stampin' Up! white embossing powder. My spider webs are from the Stamps of Life web4us stamp set. These created a really simple but perfect background for the main card.
The focal point of my card is this die cut black window frame (this is the Small Madison Window die from Memory Box), which features a cute little owl (Stamps of Life moreowls2love stamp set) on a tree branch. I stamped the branch from the Hampton Art Autumn Is In The Air stamp set, onto brown card stock, and then I sponged the edges slightly. I trimmed the branch and the owl body out and then after I'd attached the owl, I stamped in his little legs. I layered these over a piece of Halloween paper from Recollections to create the full scene in the window frame.
The window scene I placed over some Martha Stewart Halloween paper which I punched with an American Crafts border punch. Then I heat embossed "Happy 'Owl'oween" in white (from the Stamps of Life owls2love stamp set) to finish off the card.
