Traditional Scrapbook Layout - At Three

I attended CKC Manchester last weekend, and picked up a ton of new scrappy goodies to play with. I also felt really inspired by all of the pages everyone posted for iNSD to create a layout of my own to share. Austin turned three last month and I thought it would be nice to use the photo I took for his third birthday.

Here's a look at my full layout:

One of my favorite things are those pennant/banner flags, so I thought I would incorporate a bunch of them into this page. I just used the Stampin' Up! Banners Framelits to cut them in two different sizes out of sheets of paper from the Echo Park All About A Boy 6x6 paper pad. Then I cut them a little shorter here or there, and layered them on the page. I used a very thin piece of navy card stock (Stampin' Up! Midnight Muse) along the top.

I used alpha stickers from Authentique for the title and "sub title." Love the navy color, I haven't found a lot of navy alphas, so I had to grab these at the convention when I spotted them.

In the top corner, I used a package of metal word clips from Queen & Company on top of another sheet of paper from the EP paper pad. To make the edges, I used a pair of decorative scissors. I have a ton of these and don't use them that often, so it was nice to grab something old to use with all these new supplies.

I've sprinkled my homemade enamel dots all around the page as well. I use Glossy Accents to adhere them to the page - I've found that works the best, but glue dots work well too.

I was really unsure of writing directly on the page, as I really hate my handwriting, but in the end I went for it and I think it adds a personal touch to the page. I just listed all the things Austin really loves right now.

The word block is more of the EP paper, and then I used a die cut from October Afternoon popped up with foam dots. (The "good stuff" at the top of my photo is also October Afternoon).

This turned out to be one of my favorite pages so far, and I'm itching to make more.

Supplies Used:
Papers from BasicGrey for Studio Calico, Tim & Beck for Studio Calico
Echo Park All About a Boy 6x6 paper pad
October Afternoon "All Boy" Snap-Caps
Queen & Co. Exclamations clips - Boy
Authentique alpha stickers
Stampin' Up! Banners Framelits
DIY enamel dots
Paper Shapers decorative scissors

  1. I love this SO much. The layered banners are so beautifully done, and all the embellishments are so perfect but not overwhelming. One of the all time best, I say!

The "you are kinda awesome" is awesome :-)

    1. Thank you! I thought that awesome die cut was cute because he loves "Everything is Awesome" so much. This one is definitely one of my favorite pages, if not my very favorite.

  2. I really love this page! I have a similar set of the Queen & Co word clips, they're so cute! Can't wait to use mine, love how you used them all in a line, wouldn't have thought to do that! The banners and word embellishments are adorable, and that Echo Park collection is a favorite of mine, too! :) You really hit it out of the park with this one, just wonderful!!! :D
