Birthday Card

I made a birthday card for my mom just a few hours before we were going out to celebrate. Last minute, but I think it turned out cute.

I chose a pretty, feminine, vintage-feel paper from the My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing 6x6 paper pad for the base of the front of the card. I used the same paper stack to punch out the little flags for the "happy" banner.

To make the banner, I stamped the letters using the Stampin' Up! Designer Typeset stamp set, and Versamagic Turquoise Gem ink. Then I wrapped a piece of baker's twine across the width of the paper, using a glue pen to keep it in place. Once that was dry, I tied another piece of baker's twine in a little bow in the left corner, and then used foam dots to stick the banners along the twine. The last step was to stamp "birthday" along the top of the banner, using the Stamps of Life tickets2stamp set and the same ink.

I felt the card still needed something near the bottom, so I added these wood hearts from Studio Calico.

My mom loved the card, I'm happy to report!
