Project Life 2013: Weeks 50 & 51
Welcome to Project Life 2013, weeks 50 & 51. Only one week left to go in 2013. I can't say that I'm not eagerly anticipating finishing this album and going digital. I think now that I've decided to do that, I'm feeling even more stress when putting together these layouts. And I really hate that, because I love Project Life, and I love the end result. But right now it's feeling like a chore. Hoping that my more relaxed, digital approach is going to make a difference next year. (If it doesn't, well, then I probably need to evaluate if this really is the right thing for me to be doing, but I have high hopes that next year is going to be easier).
Okay, back to the spread. I put two weeks together, again, for two reasons. One, to finish it faster (bringing me back to the whole "feels like a chore" thing) and two, because I didn't find that I had enough photos for just one week. I was sick, then I hurt my back, and we had some storms that kept us in the house. There just wasn't enough I took pictures of. (Which I'm finding is leaving me in a bit of a pickle with my December Daily album as well).
Once again, I'm using the Winter Theme Pack for my journaling and filler cards. The snow themed cards definitely fit all the storms we had over these two weeks. I do think I'm finished with this kit for now. The cards will work nicely with a few scrapbook layouts in the future though.
On this left page, I have a photo from my dinner with Shannon at the Melting Pot, when we exchanged gifts. I added in a photo of the scale after a few days of being sick. Lowest weight since the year I was married (almost 5 years ago, eek). I actually weighed in a few days later and was the same so I am comfortable that I made it into the 140's. Not too bad for a few months at the gym.
Austin asked me to take pictures of his hands and feet during one bath, so I just had to document those. And then I added a photo and ticket stubs from a little date/movie night that I had with Brad to see The Hobbit. I also had a movie night with Austin, so a photo of that went in as well.
On the right, some photos from the first of the two big storms we had. A photo from my department's Yankee Swap/Holiday Lunch, and one of Brad and Austin baking brownies.
I used the Project Life alpha stickers that came with the Just Add Color kit in a few spots. They aren't my favorite (I like the size/font, but I don't love the transparency of them at all), but they work nicely for some quick titles without journaling.
That's week 51. Week 52, if you're wondering, will be the rest of the year. I don't like the whole half-week/week 53 idea so I usually just add the extra days in the year to the start or end of the year so I have only 52 weeks. Next year I am planning not to go weekly (or monthly) and just scrap chronologically. Whatever fills a page/layout, fills that layout. In my head, it'll work, but it will be interesting to see if I revert back to a weekly approach or not. I've been doing that for so long, it seems, I'm not sure if I can convert so easily.
