December Daily 2013: Three

My third story for December Daily was about these foam Christmas tree gifts that Austin made. He actually made them in November, but it's a Christmas-related activity and even though I'm calling this album December Daily, you already know I'm just filling in our seasonal activities when I don't have a particular story on a particular day.

I picked up the foam trees and some embellishing stickers at Michaels and let him do all the decorating (except the names - I made thickers out of fun foam using my Big Shot and an alphabet die strip, and glittered them {terribly} myself).

Here's the full spread:

I picked up a ribbon punch from EK Success a few months ago that I hadn't gotten a chance to try yet. I thought punching some of the coordinating patterned paper and weaving this sparkly gold "velvet" ribbon through it would be cute on this layout. A tip when you are weaving the ribbon through, especially a thick ribbon like this one - tape the end of the ribbon, and then cut that into a point. It makes a huge difference!

I took one of the leftover gold stars and layered it over some gold striped washi tape in one of the pockets.

And I picked up these fun wood trees at Michaels, so I picked out a small one and large one to use on this spread. I left them bare; I really like the look of plain wood embellishments.

I'm obviously a bit behind on this album, but it seems that a lot of people finish their albums in January, so I feel a little better about it than I did a few days ago. I didn't expect to be SO busy with other things going on. I'm just trying to keep up with the photos and making a list of what I want to document for each page.

How are you all doing with your albums? Are any of you really behind too?
