Still loving this album, still way behind. :)
For these pages, I documented the holiday photo I tried to take of Austin in my livingroom.
One thing I'm finding a little challenging is creating different 8x8 pages. This struggle was one of the main reasons I switched to doing Project Life style scrapbooking a few years ago. It was really hard to come up with so many layouts for Austin's original baby book. Definitely finding myself getting a little frustrated already, and wish I had stuck to only pocket pages instead of the larger pages, but it is what it is. I know I'll love the album when it's done, it will just take a little more creativity.
I used a couple of wood cameras from Studio Calico in this layout. Perfect since it was a layout about taking a photo. The borders on the 8x8 page were punched using an EK Success border punch, out of glitter paper. Then I used some of the stars to decorate the rest of the page, including one inside the little camera lens.
The opposite page was all 2x2 pockets. I just cut some glitter card stock and patterned paper for a few pockets, along with some photos from the "shoot." I added another Studio Calico wood piece, "so it goes" with my journaling about the struggle to get a decent photo of Austin.
Finally, I had shown this when I revealed my foundation pages, but one pocket is clear with some star sequins. I made this pocket by cutting another page protector (I had a few extra). I cut out one pocket all the way around, flipped it upside down and slid it into this pocket. Hard to describe but this was the easiest way for me to have a clear pocket without having to seal it in any way.
I will say, while I do love this album and I can't wait to have it completed so we can look through it again and again each Christmas...I don't know if I'll do one next year. Last year I just added my December Daily photos to my Project Life spread and that was much easier for me.
Are you guys doing a December Daily? Are you finding it a little overwhelming? I definitely didn't expect to not be able to keep up, like, at ALL. :)
