Traditional Scrapbook Layout - Play Time
I had a Sunday free a few weeks ago and decided I wanted to make a couple of layouts using some older photos of Austin. This one of Austin in his ball pit looking up at me is one of my favorites, and I liked the challenge of scrapbooking a photo with really bright, bold colors.
This layout was based on a sketch from Shimelle, which you can find on her blog here. I reversed the direction and changed up the size/placement of a few of the elements on the page.
I recently picked up the American Crafts 5th & Frolic paper stack at Michaels ($5 on hot buy!) and I loved the neutral background paper with the typewriter and "remember this" printed in the corner. But the typewriter just didn't go with this photo, so I covered it up with a stripe of paper from Amy Tangerine. I know they're used everywhere now but I seriously love chevrons!
I used enamel dots in a couple of places that matched the blue I chose for the background border. I don't own a lot of enamel dots but they sure are perfect for a little something to add to a page.
The stamp that says "this makes me smile" is from Blinks of Life and came in one of the earlier Studio Calico Project Life kits. I love that stamp probably most of all the ones I received as part of my sub.
For the title, I used my favorite Amy Tangerine thickers, and I sponged them with some Memento Desert Sand ink. I added a couple of chipboard banner flags from My Mind's Eye and a little sticker from Simple Stories to finish the layout.
I really love how this one turned out!
