Project Life 2013: Week 9

Welcome to Project Life 2013, week 9. If you're new to my blog, make sure you check out my post about my 2013 album.

Here's my full layout:

Spent a bit more time than I have been on this week, mostly due to smaller sized photos. I needed to add them into a 4x6 pocket and wanted them to be a little more substantial than just sticking them in with patterned paper behind them.

On this page, I had a couple of Instagram shots that I added in. I cut the pennant labels that I attached on a few of the photos using my Big Shot, and the Stampin' Up! Bitty Banners Framelits, with some of the My Mind's Eye paper that I've been using in my 2013 album.

Brad had sent me a very sweet text this week that I wanted to save, so I added a screenshot of it onto a Studio Calico journaling card. The washi tape on the bottom left Instagram photo is also from one of the Studio Calico kits.

I included an insert this week that actually came from my Click Magazine. I thought it was really pretty and didn't have any other use for it, but I didn't want to throw it away, so I just used a 5x7 page protector and added it to the album.

Austin visited the Easter Bunny on Sunday, and I had two photos that I couldn't decide between so I got them both. Added in one each of the wallets of these to the spread, and used some alphas from the January Studio Calico kit on top.

The card is from a Studio Calico kit too, thought it went nicely with the Easter Bunny photos, and I needed to fill a 4x6 slot.

  2. Are you liking the SCkit overall? I've seen mixed reviews.

    1. I like some parts of each kit. I sell the extras ;) March was not really my style so I only kept a handful of cards, the labels, and the washi tape.

But the quality is unmatched, and for the creative types who love creating layered layouts, it's great. I just am keeping it a little simpler so some of the elements I can't use/won't use.

I will say, since the kits are sold out and plenty of people want them...er...I've been able to make my money back (and then some) on the leftovers, so I haven't really technically spent any money on the kits.
