Project Life 2013: Week 2

I was a couple of weeks behind, but it didn't bother me as much as it did last year. I knew I'd complete my layouts when I got a chance. Other things were more pressing, and I'm totally ok with it.

So I got weeks 2 and 3 done this week (I'll share week 3 next week, which buys me a little more time to complete week 4, see what I'm doing there?). I put both of these together in the span of just a half hour on Saturday. (This doesn't include preparing my photos, just putting the layouts together). So much better than the 2-3 hours I'd spend trying to figure out a pretty layout last year. I love having all of my coordinating supplies right on hand, ready to go.

If you're new to my blog, make sure you check out my post about my 2013 album.

Anyway, here's week 2:

I seriously am loving the color theme of this album. The teals and browns and light colors everwhere? Beautiful. After 3 weeks, I see a cohesiveness to my album that I don't think I had last year. Very happy.

Here's a closer look at page 1:

I'm moving my title cards around this year because of the number thickers I am using. Too many in one spot and the album will get huge. I wasn't sure if I could handle the title cards being in other spots but it turns out, I like changing things up a little.

I've got some snaps from around the house - Austin in his crib with his Minnie, and the kitties cuddling together. I had a neck and scalp massage so I grabbed a quick iPhone shot of myself in the mirror with my hair all a mess but totally relaxed after the massage. Used some of the Seafoam edition as well as some of the paper from My Mind's Eye.

Page two is mostly about the arrival of Molly! (I've blurred out the hospital name & location). Molly is my friend Lindsay's second baby, and she is so cute! I got to visit her when she was just a couple of days old, so exciting!

Love that Snap Shots card from the January Studio Calico kit. I did notice I have tons of leftovers from the kit, which is great. I think if you used only the kit you'd have enough to complete a month, but since I'm using a few pieces here and there, there's more than enough to go around. Some of the stickers that come with the kit I'll end up using on cards and in other projects too!

So that's week 2. :)
