Right now on Amazon, the Canon EOS Rebel T3 is on sale for $294.95 for the body. I don't know anything about Canon DSLRs as I use a Nikon, but I know that when I purchased the body for my Nikon D3100, it was around $500. At this price you can add a lens for what I ended up paying for body alone for my entry level DSLR.
