Last weekend I had my first real photographer gig - I was the photographer for my friend Britt's baby shower. Unpaid, of course - I just enjoy taking photos and it gave me something to do, as I didn't know too many people there. Plus, I don't really have "professional" equipment. These were shot with either my 35mm or my kit lens, and this tiny speedlight flash.
Here are a few pictures from the shower:
I actually made the banner and the favor tags as well. For the banner, I used a baby themed embossing folder on the purple card stock, and then ran the teal through one of the Labels 8 Nestabilities. The glittered letters were store-bought (thanks, Shannon!).
The favor tags were made with the Stampin' Up! Decorative Label punch, and I sponged ink along the edges. The stamp used is from Occasions Alphabet.
The shower was in this really cool former train station. Love the dark wood and the benches along the walls.
For anyone who didn't know the sex of the baby, the cake was filled with blue or pink frosting. It's a boy!
The mom-to-be and I.
Happy expectant parents! :)
This was one of the best baby showers I've been to (I'm a little biased, my own was at the Melting Pot, haha!). The parents didn't want it to be a true shower, so it was co-ed, and there was plenty of alcohol. The food was PHENOMENAL (samosas and arancini, with eclairs for dessert, oh my goodness). The music was great (Britt's brother had pulled together a playlist filled with songs that had the words "baby" or "child" in them - hearing "Sweet Child O' Mine followed by Justin Bieber's Baby was pretty awesome and hilarious).
All in all, it was an amazing shower, for an amazing person. Congrats to Britt and Mike! Can't wait to meet the little guy! :)
