100 Cards in 100 Days: Day 49

A few weeks ago (or is it a few months ago?), Shannon and I made a few of these adorable patchwork cards:

I'm not cheating - these aren't the cards for day 49...keep reading :)

The idea for these came from this blog post I found on Pinterest. What a perfect way to use up small scraps! However I needed to make a template, because simply cutting scraps wasn't going to cut it (pun intended).

To do this I used the inspiration pic as my guide. I took my scoreboard and started scoring lines. Below is the back of my template (please ignore the silly quote I wrote on there - I was being funny when Shannon was over).

The template looked just like this on the front after scoring, but in reverse (lines indented instead of embossed).

Then I colored in the boxes I needed for the card:

That's what the front of my template now looks like. I measured the sides of each box and wrote down the measurements so I knew what size to cut.

Today, I used this template to make up a cute patchy Christmas card:

Supplies Used:
MS Scoreboard
ATG Gun
Kraft card stock
Stampin' Up! More Merry Messages stamp set
Memento Cottage Ivy
Recollections Jolly & Bright paper pad
Anna Griffin Holiday Traditions paper pad
Stampin' Up! Basic Black marker

  2. Wow. I think I'm going to put these dimension in my silhouette machine to make doing this card even easier. Thanks for the photo with the measurements!
