Product Review: Benjamin Moore Aura Waterborne Interior Paint

Benjamin Moore gave me the opportunity to try out their Aura paint, and oh my goodness, I am in love! I knew I wanted to paint in one of our bathrooms, and Brad decided on the master bath.

Here's a before picture of my master bath.

Pretty plain, right?

We picked out a new shower curtain, and headed to my local Benjamin Moore store to find some matching paint. Turns out Boca Raton Blue was a PERFECT match for the shower curtain.

Check out this gorgeous color!

I am just over the moon about this color, and the richness of this paint. My bathroom feels like a spa now. (I know that sounds cheesy but that's how I'm feeling about it).

Here's another before/after comparison:

I have to tell you, this paint is really amazing quality. It coats on quite thick, and two coats are plenty to get perfect coverage. (In fact, one coat looked better and covered more than the Valspar paint we normally choose). It doesn't run, either, which is great for someone like me who tends to have my corner paint drip.

It seems to be low odor too, because we were able to easily paint in that small bathroom with the door closed without any issues.

This paint IS quite expensive though (just over $60 a gallon), but I do find that there is a definite difference in quality over a lesser expensive brand like Valspar.

Here's a few more after shots for you:

In these shots you can see the new wood bath mat we picked up (Target!). Adds to the spa feel in my "new" bathroom. I love this mat. Mostly because my cats won't attack it. :)

Here's a shot of the bathroom at night - the color is still amazing and not at all too dark for the room size.

This is the shower curtain that started it all :)

And finally, Eddy really loves the bathroom too:
