Freebie Friday: {Happy 4th} Overlay & Journaling Card

I hope that anyone celebrating Independence Day this week had a wonderful day. We took it easy for the day, walking over to our town center for a few hours, and just staying home, grilling some tasty food, and playing games.

I thought I'd give you all a 4th of July related freebie this week. In my mind, this was simple, but of course I wanted to make the stars and text glittery, and then with different colors, so it took a bit longer than anticipated.

This is what the overlay looks like:

It's sized for 4x6 photos.

And the coordinating journaling card:

And here's a few examples of the overlay on various photo colorings:

I really dig the black and white one.

One thing I didn't do, but you could, is add a drop shadow to the overlay on the photo.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'm off to celebrate the 2nd birthday of a special little lady. I imagine next week's Project Life post will be a bit delayed. Again. Oh well! I'm too busy living life :)

Don't forget, you can quickly access all of my freebies on my Pinterest Freebie board.

  1. Thanks.. although I won't use this for the 4th of July... my little boy turns 4 in July so I have an idea how to use it. Thanks Melissa.

  2. Thanks Melissa. I spent 7/4/13 with four grandbabies so will definitely be using your freebie in this week's PL spread.
