Project Life 2012: Week 22

Welcome to Project Life 2012, Week twenty two.

I went dark this week, and stuck with the Cobalt edition. The thought for this theme came as a result of Summer's School of Rock show and the darker pictures.

Here's my full layout, with my insert:

And without the insert:

Page 1:

We babysat for Brad's friends' 5 month old twins over the weekend. They were adorable, and so fun to play with, but I definitely am glad I didn't have twins! Lots of work :) Looking forward to sitting for them again, though!

I also included a photo and text to represent us starting a lemonade fast. We did well the first week - two days of fasting with healthy eating in between, and Brad was down 8 pounds, and me, 5. And, it was super easy!

I had a video of Austin climbing the stairs, so I included a screenshot.

And page 2:

Pictures from Summer's show, along with a couple of videos. A shot of Austin staring out into the rain. I used a stamp from Inkadinkado to unite the two journaling cards in the middle of the page.

And the front and back of the 6x12 insert I made:

And some highlights from this week:

On my title card (one from the Cobalt edition), I added some off white paper flowers that I'd picked up in the Michaels' dollar bins, and attached them with some sparkly brads from Recollections. The little chipboard bird is from Studio 112.

My custom foam thickers - view my tutorial here.  And one of my Days of the Week overlays on the picture of Austin looking out the window.

I decided to make some labels using some of the bifold journaling cards from the Cobalt edition. I just chopped them to size with my paper trimmer, and then used a (now retired) Stampin' Up! ticket punch to finish the corners off.

Sorry in such a rush this week - way too much to do tonight.

You can check out the rest of Summer's show photos here.

Be sure to stop by The Mom Creative and check out everyone else's layouts from the week!

Now, for the fun part. I finally got with the program and am using the InLinkz Link Manager to show off the supplies used. Woo hoo!

  1. As always, I love this spread! It's definitely a different feel, but doesn't seem out of place at all. LOVE the intro card with the bird... it looks so good!

  2. Love the foam letter! I can't believe I've never thought to do that! Thanks so much for the tip.

Also, what is the lemonade fast and how does it work?

    1. The website for the actual full Master Cleanse is here:

      http://themastercleanse.org/

We modified this because we didn't want to do a 10 day cleanse, and we drink the lemonade two days a week (split up, so, say, Sunday, and Wednesday), with healthy eating in between. We do not do the salt water flush or the laxative part though. Just basically a lemonade fast two days a week.

  3. HI Melissa,
Just stopping by from The Mom Creative and wanted to say the School of Rock theme rocks! (hehe.)
Very impressed by the lemonade fast - might have to look into it myself!
    Thanks for sharing.

  7. Great pages! The foam stickers looks very good and the picture of Austin looking out the window is fabulous!

I want to thank you for all the great freebies that you share. I usually leave a comment when I download but sometimes I don't (sorry!) but I always appreciate them! And soon I will use them in my own projects too, not only have them downloaded on my computer... :) And when I finally learn how to make digital work on my photos I'm sure that I will buy your other stuff. I would love to do overlays and other stuff on my pictures.
