Project Life 2012: Week 18

Welcome to Project Life, Week Eighteen.

Excited about this week's inserts - photos from Austin's one year shoot, and a traditional layout that I'd been dying to make since I saw the design in an inspiration book over a year ago.

Onward to the full layout:

Here are each of the two main pages:

As I mentioned above, one of my inserts was a spread of photos from Austin's shoot with Jennifer Millian.

Jen was our engagement and wedding photographer, as well as the photographer for my baby shower. We hired her this year for four different shoots with Austin and us - newborn, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months. It's been a pleasure having her take our pictures. She's very reasonably priced, and she's always turned around the photos to me within a couple of weeks.

I had approached Jen when Austin was born with an image I'd seen in a scrapbook magazine (see the list of supplies below for the title/link), and we finally were able to take the shot. It's a spot color image of Austin stacking his rings, and I made this layout as an insert into my spread this week:

I just used a 10x10 slip-on protector from some random scrapbook, and added a spine made with washi tape. I am SO happy with how this layout turned out. I have switched from traditional scrapbooking to Project Life, but it gave me really great pleasure to make a traditional layout again. I think it'll be fun to do some occasionally, without the pressure of creating an entire traditional scrapbook.

Here's the layout without the page protector glare:

Finally, here are a few highlights from this week's layout:

  1. Aw, I love the insert with Austin's photos. And the spot colour ring photo you used to do a traditional latyout is fabulous. Love how you accented the photo with the colour strips!

    1. Thanks! I completely, 100%, copied that layout from one I'd seen in a scrapbook inspiration book, so I can't take credit for the design. You can see the layout in the background on this pic I took:

    1. Hahah! I ended up tweeting that pic with the caption "Is this the equivalent of your cat bringing you a dead mouse?" It was like he was leaving me a present for later :)
