A Day in Rockport

Brad and I took last week off from work. We planned to take a few day trips with Austin, get a few things done around the house, see some movies, and relax. I'm happy to report we did all of those things. :)

First up was a trip over to Rockport, MA. The weather turned out to be perfect, and Austin had an awesome time. Here are many, many photos from our day:

Austin really wanted to walk around Bearskin Neck. He dragged Brad and I around the circle a half a dozen times!

We stopped for a tasty lunch before heading to the beach. Austin had a fruit cup, which he really enjoyed.

I had something a little tastier than fruit! A delicious lobster roll! :)

After that, we headed to the beach. It was Austin's first time at the ocean.

As soon as he spotted the water, he took off running!

A nice couple offered to take a family picture of us. There were people in the background of this picture, but I edited them out with PSE. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with the result.

Here's the original photo:

Austin loved the water. He didn't care at all that it was freezing cold. He just liked to splash and play and if we didn't hold him back, I'm pretty sure he would have tried to go swimming.

We found an area of water that had pooled around the top of the beach with the high tide, and let Austin play with his toys for awhile. He had so much fun, he cried when we had to leave. (I got nervous having him in the sun for much longer than the hour we were at the beach. We had plenty of sunblock but it was hot and I was afraid he would burn anyway - Brad and I both burn very, very easily).

Someone had made these little sand castles and just left them there on the beach. I had to take a picture of them.

On our way back to the car, we stopped at a little park and Austin crawled around in the grass for a bit. As soon as we got in the car, he fell asleep. He had a great day. We all had a great day.

  1. What a beautiful day! Looks like he had a blast!!!

  2. I've been very impatiently waiting for these recaps & pictures! So I think I squealed a little when I saw this one was up today :-)

You did a REALLY good job editing out those people! If you hadn't said, no one would know. These pictures are definitely some of my favorites of all time of yours. So good!

And, can I have a bite of your lobby roll!?!?

    1. Oh! Thank you! It's not perfect, but mostly because I know where the people were and what the original looked like, so I just see the imperfections in my removing them.

Thanks for your wonderful comments! :)
