Couch-to-5K


I downloaded this app for iPhone a couple of days ago, and plan to start tonight. It is a 9 week running plan that is supposed to get you to running a full 5K by the end. I like that there's a log for your progress, and that you can repeat workouts if you don't feel you're ready to move on just yet. It even links you up with 5Ks in your area.

Really hoping this will make me a better runner, and help me shed more weight. I've kinda hit a plateau for a couple of weeks. I'll let you know how it goes. Who wants to join me in my journey?

    Kudos to you for running! Running has never agreed with me, or maybe the other way around - so my movement of choice is walking.

    But starting in the spring Matty and I are working on our 12 run/walks this year so you'll have to join us!

  2. I just wanted to say I have done the C25K in the past and it worked like gang busters. Of course I hung up my running shoes shortly after I ran the 5K I trained for. Maybe I should get back into it.

    1. Ooh, thanks! I'm excited! It seems like a challenging, yet not impossible, program. The one thing I hate so much about the Jillian Michaels DVDs is that you have to like, be in shape just to try them! I like a program that can gradually build up my strength.

  3. I too have donne the C25K in the past (2009) and I have to say it was really great. I always hated running prior to this and ended up loving it & even planning on running the NYC marathon in 2014.
    I'll have to start all over again because well, I've been pregnant since and the birth was quite traumatic leaving me unable to do any exercise until now. But it made wonders the first time, so I bet it will this time too :)
    Now, I'll have to check for your updates on following it to see if you liked it :)
