One Little Word 2012 Cover Page

Tonight, I worked on my cover page for One Little Word 2012. I am excited about the class, but I wanted to do this in a mini-album format, rather than the page protector/binder format on the supply list.

I used Ali's template provided on the class site in Photoshop Elements and adjusted it from portrait to landscape. I adjusted the size to 5x7 instead of 4x6, because I wanted more space on each page. I then changed the color of the outline and wording to a dark brown. I printed this on white heavy card stock and trimmed down to size.

I used my Slice Noel cartridge to cut out the lettering from Tim Holtz Idea-ology paper. I used the same paper to cut little squares that each feature a word that I feel relates to my One Little Word in 2012. I liked the text themed paper, because one of the things I want to enjoy next year is reading.

I used some paper flowers and dark brown metallic brads for a little feminine decoration. Even one of my sweet flowers has the word "enjoy" on it.

This past weekend, Shannon and I split the purchase of a Zutter Bind-it-All (on sale at Tuesday morning). I used it to punch the holes in my cover and back cover. I won't be binding the book until the end of the year, but I can punch the holes as I go. I'm keeping the cover and pages in a clear plastic storage box for now.

I'd love to know what you guys think!

  1. I say, wow! I REALLY love this. It's beautiful!
And I especially love the word you chose. 2012 is going to be a good year if you keep that word in mind :-)

  3. Thanks ladies!!! :) I have really high hopes for this album :) Not knowing what the monthly assignments are, it's hard to picture what the end result will be, but I hope to continue being this creative with each month!
