Goodbye, Facebook!

I just did something I've been thinking about for a long time. I deactivated (deleted) my Facebook account.

I've been annoyed by all the changes Facebook has been going through, but this last change over to the Timeline style profile is the last straw for me. Even if you adjust all your privacy settings accordingly, you are still stuck with an ugly, hideous profile page. And yes, I know my news feed will still function normally, but I don't care.

I don't need Facebook. There are plenty of people who live their lives and don't have Facebook. I am very, VERY active on this blog. I have recently become quite active through Twitter. And most people know my email address, or at the very least, my cell phone number. I love to text. Finally, I set up a blog to post pictures to so my family can still keep in touch.

Seriously, if you want to keep in touch with me, there are many ways to do it. So I don't need anyone telling me that it sucks I won't be on Facebook anymore (or LiveJournal for that matter), because if you actually care to keep in touch, you know how to do so.

This is all I want to say about that.
