Gizmo

It was a really hard decision but we have to confine Gizmo to our laundry room (which is actually a really good sized room). He will be fine in there. He's used to going to my mother's while we're away and he stays in her bathroom and just sleeps in his bed and is happy as a clam. It's sad, but he keeps throwing up all over the hall and bedrooms and he also has diarrhea a lot and when it hits him he just goes wherever he is, which is in the bedrooms or the bathroom sometimes. So we've got to keep him in one spot, or he'll destroy the house. I don't know how much longer he has, anyway. It's kind of weird to say but when he does pass, it'll almost be a relief. He's had a really good, long life (he's 18), and it's really amazing he's even made it this long. He's been on medication for his thyroid since August of 2006. At that time the vet had given him only a couple of years and he is still jumping on counters (though he misses more and more now) and playing with the other cats. But there is definitely something wrong with his kidneys (he drinks water constantly, all day long, out of the bowl or if we oblige, straight from the tap). So I really don't know how much time he has left. We'll make that room as comfortable as we can for him.
