Photoshop Elements and GIMP

While reading Ali Edwards section on Project Life tonight, I noted she uses Photoshop Elements for her photo editing. I went to the Adobe site to check the price, expecting several hundred dollars (after all, Photoshop starts at $700), and was pleased to see it is only $79 with a mail-in rebate.

What I found super interesting, was that they will let you download a fully functional, free trial version of the software for 30 days, so you can try out every aspect of the product before you buy it. This is fantastic, so I'm currently downloading it now.

While I'm talking photo editing, another program I use often on my PC (have not downloaded for Mac yet) is GIMP. GIMP is, basically, a free version of Photoshop. It definitely has differences from what I've read, but it handles some very advanced photo editing. I do have one book on using GIMP but could definitely use more reading material about it, as it is very complex.

Anyway, just wanted to make you all aware of the free trial for Elements and the GIMP program.
