Woah, Baby!

Alright. Even though I haven't officially announced the pregnancy everywhere (meaning...it hasn't hit Facebook yet), we're pretty much telling people. And since I only have a small handful of readers here, I figured I might as well start posting about the baby here. (Not that you guys haven't already known or guessed from my nausea-related posts).

Last week we had the 7 week ultrasound (pic above), and this week we had a visit with the nurse. This was mostly for medical history. But, it also included a YUCKY blood test (so many vials of blood, ew!) and a urine test. We did test for CF, since it's covered by insurance and done in the same blood draw. We most likely will not be doing the early blood tests for Downs, however. Mostly because Brad and I really aren't sure we'd terminate if we did find out there was a chance for Downs. I'd only terminate if I knew, 100%, the baby had Downs. He's not sure what he'd want to do in that case. The early testing, I think, only gives you what the chances are of that baby being born with Downs, so even if you come back 1 in 100...doesn't mean you're the 1. You know? So I think we'll skip it.

I get another ultrasound at 18 weeks, and I should be able to find out the sex then. Just 10 weeks away. Yay! :)

I'm debating whether to cancel our trip to NY in a couple of weeks. I don't know if I'm going to feel well enough to make the 3 hour trip and then the tour of the caverns, the ghost tour, and the diamond mining the next day. It's Brad's birthday weekend and our 10 year anniversary, and I just don't know.

Finally, our house is 1 year old today! Happy Birthday, Big Beautiful House!

  1. How exciting! I hope your nausea starts to subside in time for you to go ahead with --- and ENJOY --- your upcoming trip. And your house certainly IS beautiful! I love the light color with the dark shutters, the rocks, and all the tress surrounding.

  2. Aw, thank you! :) It was at the top of our budget, but the house we knew we'd raise our family in and stay in until we retire to (hopefully) Vegas :) Haha.
