It's really since the wedding, but I've sort of fallen in love with beautiful photography. Specifically, artsy photos. I've found a few cool apps for my Droid Eris, like Retro Camera, and have taken some neat photos of my cats with that. It's fun and something I enjoy. When I went to Vegas this past May, I kept trying to get some nice photos of stuff that I could later play around in Gimp with to make them kind of artistic.

So with that, I've been thinking for awhile now about the next camera I want. And I may have found it. I saw a commercial for it on TV and thought I'd check it out, and it sounds right up my alley. I still need to read reviews, of course, and I'm waiting to talk to Brad to see if it's something we can save up for, but I'm liking the sample images I see so far of the art filters:

  1. I think it's great that you're getting into it, because I think you have a natural knack for photography. I mean, the Perfect Loop & Whittaker Classics pics are really amazing, and you improved SO quickly.

  2. Apparently, this camera is a no-no according to my wedding photographer. It's overpriced for what it does. I also read a very extensive review that only gave it about a 66% rating.

She informed me that Canon and Nikon are the two brands I should be looking at, so I'll start there, I guess!

  3. I love my Canon! So I imagine an even nicer Canon would be pretty awesome!
